It's not a bad idea to prod people to upgrade, I'm not sure that this is the best way of doing it though. More important than website compatibility is computer security - your antivirus software (or more likely Windows Security Centre) flashes up that you're open to invading nasties when your definitions are out of date, maybe the same should happen for your browser.

 

Alternatively there's the Google Chrome route - stealth updates

I like it - a lot I especially like that they don't even recommend using the frankly smegging awful IE9.

Moodle 2, CSS and IE do not mix.

Bahh, it should be an old browser tax but if they don't want business from x% of clients thats fine, its their bottom line.

Clever idea - worst case for the company if that they lose 3% of current sales but I'd though easily compenstated for by the publicity generated

....and Edexcel's online marking software won't work on IE9, only IE8 (previous versions wouldn't work on IE8, only 7 - and it doesn't work at all on other browsers). So much for the white heat of the technological revolution.....

Cost of TV - $682.45

Delivery - $29.78

IE7 Tax - $43.45

 

Total on Screen - $712.23

 

Actual Total should be - $755.68 - IE7 Tax isn't applied at all on this screen

 

Image 2:

 

TV Price - $639.00

 

Total On screen - $668.78

 

Again no IE7 Tax but the TV costs are different

 

Anyone care to venture a guess at the real cost of the TV???

Ah, they've added the tax on in the first screen then! The screenshot makes it look like it should be added on afterwards.

I know it's a hoax but the numbers just didn't look right that's all. What i was getting at was the fact that if they were going to pull this hoax they should have at least made the numbers look right.
