There was a thread to this a while back, you have to make an .mst with orca or similar to go along with the MSI to prevent the extrude bug, either that or install it individual and run it as admin for the first time (very time consuming!)

Is it OK to swap transforms? If so I will send you ours

We had the exact same problem with Pro Desktop crashing out randomly when the student use the extrude function.. we tried all sorts and got nowhere; we decided to ditch Pro D this summer and have now moved to Solidworks.

Has anyone else seen that ridicolous Pro D error where "bananas!" comes up on the screen!!?

We habve had a problem with the extrude function in Pro Desktop 8 causing the app to bomb out.

Tried everything above but in the end we have had to run as administrator prior to pupil use... it must just be the software trying to write to somewhere it shouldn't on first use.

Had the same problem. Turned graphics acceleration off (Graphics properties, Troubleshooting tab) and it works fine, go figure!

..Yes, although, that "Bananas" Error is fixable. I can't remember how, but I made it go away, either the upgrade to version 2000 i 2, or installing it locally (as opposed to running from the network).

Pro Engineer needs a License server...:censored: ... the Tech dept were wanting me to look into installing it, stil I managed to get Sibelius working from laptops to a license server, how much worse could it be ?
