Oh and as to "host your own"...

 

I do that and I can't stress enough, DO NOT GO THERE!...

 

It's a nightmare unless you get it managed and that costs a lot of money. The only people I'd ever recommend handle a full root style VPS or any other server are people who want to learn, have already learned more than enough AND have a lot of time to kill...
