Little-Miss Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 When I said I needed ours setup quickly, I really wasn't exaggerating. Not having those volume keys could cause me a lot of aggro this week! Yours anxiously Little-Miss X Anyone got a friendly contact inside who could chase my account for me?!
Millgate Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I emailed them again this morning for you but I can't see them working today. They don't like to rush things! 1
Sylv3r Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 They tend to be sensible and give some sort of 7 days grace so you should be OK.
robk Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 @Little-Miss if you need vl keys for installation remember you get 30 days before forced activation on kms licencing.
localzuk Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Took just over a week for our licenses to come through this time - the biggest holdup was the distributor, rather than the reseller or MS. Once the disti had put the licenses on the system it was hours until they were live for us.
Little-Miss Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 I need them so I can setup the new machines using MDT this week. I think you can prompt for product key during install so may not be an issue or can you use the 30days activation period? What about office 10, can you make that prompt?
pritchardavid Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Why not use a KMS Server? Just use a KMS product code on one of your servers (2008 R2) That will then activate Windows 2008 R2 servers and Windows 7 automaticlly. You can download an Office 2010 KMS addon to activate Office 2010. No need to wait, you can activate the product key on your server when you get it This is what we do, never have had a problem with it Edited June 4, 2012 by pritchardavid
Little-Miss Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Ok. I seem to have missed a step with this kms licensing as I have no idea what you are on about! Lol
Edu-IT Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Ok. I seem to have missed a step with this kms licensing as I have no idea what you are on about! Lol Office 2010 KMS installation and troubleshooting - Office Deployment Support Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs Pretty good guide here.
robk Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Ok. I seem to have missed a step with this kms licensing as I have no idea what you are on about! Lol Ah, this should solve your problem. You install the OS etc with KMS keys, and once MS licencing comes through activate a KMS server once you have your sites KMS keys. That way all pcs and office etc activate once every 30 days as long as a KMS server is online.
