i5 versus SSD

Here's a question for you all... would you spec laptops (for staff use, mostly admin/web work but with some video/audio editing) with i3 and SSD or i5 and HDD?

i3 and SSD in my opinion...the boost is much more noticeable with SSD.

Seriously, the only benefit of the i5 over the i3 is that it's a true quad core rather than emulated - the i3s tend to be higher clocked than the i5s (although you've not mentioned the model). Very, very few people are likely to do anything requiring 4 true cores to see any benefit, whereas the SSD will benefit everything

SSD BUT must have a good write speed for video editing.

i3 + SSD unless you need the Quad for something specific (video encoding, high end graphics etc)

Would definetly go for the SSD over a slightly improved CPU. The difference between a SSD and a HDD really did shock me the first time i got one.
