I'm currently looking at Chrome as a second browser for users. I've got the Enterprise msi, and it installs perfectly, but as a restricted user, I can type C:\ in the search bar, and see the entire C drive. I have the drive hidden in My Computer.

I've tried blocking file://* and c:\ in the GPO options, but no joy. Until I've resolved this we can't deploy it.

I think I've solved it - I added file and file:// to the block type list, and browsing the c drive, and in fact any other drive now just reverts to the previous web page silently.

Hi Clareq, can you confirm the exact name of the gpo you set this in and its location? i have imported the chrome GPOs but i cant seem to see a setting for this (perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me...)

Thanks in advance.

I've set all configuration at the User level - in disable URL protocol schemes I've added both file and file:/// - belt and braces!
