I'm getting the following error message when VDI in a box is trying to setup an image:

Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer.

I have several times but to no avail, the basic KB article MS puts out doesn't fix this as the patch cannot be applied.

Stopping Anti-Virus and Firewall and Defender on the Win7 build does nothing I'm quickly running out of ideas as to why this is the case?

Anyone had experience of setting this up and getting it working?

I have not looked into Citrix VDI in a box yet (on my to do list!) but is that error popping up when the machine has been started for the first time from the Main Template?

If so, I am guessing you have to run sysprep on the template so did that work successfully?

replying in the dark here as not used the software, but just wondering..

Sysprep is handled by VDI in a Box so not something you have to do yourself :)

Ah right I see, no problem then I just wondered. I will have to have a look at this looks interesting. (i'll just sit and watch now) :D

I had a similar problem when creating a Windows 7 image this turned out to be a microsoft licence issue. I had used MAK licences for testing but changed to a KMS licence for the rollout. Because the KMS licence server had not reached it's 25 licence activation limit the image kept failing. Once the KMS server reached 25 the image created correctly. Also our kaviza servers are identical so I turned off the re-detect drivers option when creating the template, this speeds up the image creation.
