andrew_91090 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Hi, We have some computers in our IT suite that keep crashing after macromedia MX 2004 7.0 has opened for a couple of seconds, I've had a look at the event viewer and it says: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 03/05/2012 10:51:49 Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: ############ Description: Faulting application name: Flash.exe, version: 7.0.0.470, time stamp: 0x3f59a192 Faulting module name: Flash.exe, version: 7.0.0.470, time stamp: 0x3f59a192 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0084067e Faulting process id: 0x2d0 Faulting application start time: 0x01cd2911594db1be Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Macromedia Studio MX 2004 1.0\Flash MX 2004\Flash.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Macromedia Studio MX 2004 1.0\Flash MX 2004\Flash.exe Report Id: 99a5e597-9505-11e1-ac21-0014c20d1d08 Event Xml: 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 4394 Application ############ Flash.exe 7.0.0.470 3f59a192 Flash.exe 7.0.0.470 3f59a192 c0000005 0084067e 2d0 01cd2911594db1be C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Macromedia Studio MX 2004 1.0\Flash MX 2004\Flash.exe C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Macromedia Studio MX 2004 1.0\Flash MX 2004\Flash.exe 99a5e597-9505-11e1-ac21-0014c20d1d08 It's running on Windows 7 x32 any help would be great, thanks
AngryTechnician Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I'm surprised it ever worked. We gave up on MX 2004 when we went to Vista as it never worked for us on anything but XP. When did it stop working for you?
andrew_91090 Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 it works on the other 350 computers we have in the school, just not these 6 it stopped working a couple of weeks back
Sylv3r Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 We are upgrading in the summer but our Macomedia MX Studio 2004 is still playing nicely on our Windows 7 workstations here.
themightymrp Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I realise this is an old thread now but did you ever solve the crash problem? We are having the same issue here. Cheers
petelatham Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 We are having the same problem, a student was using Flash, and then it just crashed... No idea why. It was perfectly ok on Win XP CC3, but now on Windows 7 Vanilla, it crashes all time.
themightymrp Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) I still haven't managed to get this working so we are looking at buying an upgraded version. I have discovered an interesting one though - you can make it carsh 100% of the time by doing the following: Open flash, on the left side you will have the Tools pallette. Rather than clicking on one of the tools, click on the gray space between them. As soon as I do this it crashes! I have tried installing on both 32bit and 64bit Windows 7 and have also installed the update to version 7.?? whatever it is. No use, it even crashes logged on as an administrator edit - tried running in compatibility mode etc, no joy Edited December 14, 2012 by themightymrp
Kaaa_rl Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) There is a fix for this, when you set the theme of windows 7 from basic or any other to classic the crash issue is gone. Not once. no matter what it is its gone. this solutions was found by my colleague who saw the same issue with other software. so Kudos to him. This definitely works on the administrator accounts. We're currently seeing how to implement this in through AD and How long it works. Edited April 24, 2013 by Kaaa_rl 1
themightymrp Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I will try this as soon as possible! That could save our bacon!! Thanks!
Kaaa_rl Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Edit- Finally solved. When you have set the machine to Windows Classic Theme. You then need to stop and disable the "Theme" service. This has solved it for us. Sorry for the wish wash of information Let me know how this works for you Edited April 24, 2013 by Kaaa_rl Solved
