I am currently in the process of ordering some new headphones in for my school, I can't really decide on what ones to get so maybe you can help me. We ordered some of the cheaper ones last time - they broke within a couple of weeks so I am looking for something a little more sturdy, not too expensive and suitable for use around children (this being a primary school). Any suggestions? I know '100% child-proof' headphones don't exist so as I said, just looking for something thats quite sturdy and will survive more that a couple of weeks. Thanks. Joe.

Can't remember what make they were though. Thanks for that but the only ones I could find were Shure and AKG ones which are stupidly expensive. I will keep looking though for a cheaper alternative - Thanks once again! I've not tried them - but since thy sell replacements I guess they will come off if they need to - put it doesn't look like they'll just fall off of their own accord. Maybe ask for a sample before you commit to buying lots?

There's a cheaper alternative as well, Cosonic Multimedia Headphones - 3.5mm Jack Connection | Ebuyer.com, basically just search eBuyer for "cosonic" and take your pick Of course, as an all-girls selective grammar, equipment here doesn't take such a deliberate battering as in other places, just carelessness, but they've certainly worked well for us. Treating headphones as consumables will lead to a lot less stressing out, I find.

Sorry but use these in our primaries and they are not lasting two minutes before the ear pads come off or rather taken off, the mic/volume control is broken or they end up only working on one side due to cable being pulled. I know its down to teachers looking after them while kids in but that in the real worl just does not happen however much I want it to. Fed up with replacing them, but if I could get hold of the Hills ones think that may cut problems down though.

Odd, ours have lasted for ages. Maybe they're not being used?!
TechSupp Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Got two schools using them, so not just same kids. Fraid its just kids not treating equip with respect, fed up of putting ear pads back on. It one of those things, I even teach them but never see this stuff going off, except I still find the box full of loose ear pads, the mic volume control split in two! (thats got to be malicious).

They have been excellent so far in several schools and are reduced size for primary. I did a Google search and this webpage came up which is exactly the same page without the branding as so maybe your county has a similar supplier for things.
