Rawns Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'n the interests of tidying up the spare room and getting rid of my huge gaming tower, I'm looking at the idea of swapping the components from my rig into a micro PC tower. The largest concern is squeezing my GTX280 into it. Anyone had any experience with small gaming towers, or have any recommendations as to a good option?

If you do have an matx motherboard and a low profile cooler you could go with something like silverstone Sugo SG01 I've had 2 of them and really liked them! PS. I've now switched to the Antec 4000 II B - as it gave me a little more space, is cooler and quite a bit quieter Edited April 16, 2012 by siuko 1

Looks nice but I'm sure I have a standard ATX mobo but need to check. I've got a Geforce GTX280, so also need to crack a tape measure out and get some measurements to see what I can squeeze my kit into.

siuko Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Well I've had an ATI 4850 and then a Geforce 560ti in it so I'd be surprised if it didn't fit - best to check though! It was quite a tight fit mind! About 10mm between the end of the graphics card and the hard drive bay lol 1
Flatpackhamster Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I've bought Shuttle XPcs for a few years. My current one, an SX48P2 Deluxe (about 3 years old) has an ATI Radeon 4800 in. I don't know whether what you've got is a similar size, but if it is then Shuttles are a good bet, although they aren't cheap.
OB1 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 The Silverstone Fortress ft03 looks nice, not sure if it will be small enough for what you want. It got good reviews too, on Bit-tech, Overclock3d and Techpowerup I'm using it's big brother at the moment. Not had any personal experience with the FT03, but photos don't do Silverstone's manufacturing quality justice, and their TJ07 has been a strong selling case since 2008. 1

Thats a pretty broad statment I quite like mine - handle makes it easy enough to cart about and the transparent panels let you accualy see inside and go ooooooh. Then again though thats what I'm in to (Although I do like the Fracal Design cases I have seen as well).
synaesthesia Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I was after exactly teh same thing - large graphics card, full ATX mobo, small case. So plumped for Lian-Li A05NB Beautiful case, typical Lian-Li build quality, not a bad price. It has served me well for nearly a year. 1
CyberDrac Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I have a Lian-Li model (the predecessor to Kustom PCs Lian Li V351B MicroATX Cube Case Black), I had to dremel out the drive cage to fit a long graphics card but since the drive bay is through and through to both side and you can only ever use one side at a time it didn't matter. 1
