Anyone tried webcams for pets?

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a webcam for my cat to see where it goes. Anyone had a go at this and any reccommendations for hardware? I have been looking at eyenimal Something which isn't too big and can't easily fall off.

Thinking more of an attached one, on the collar, to see where they roam...

I'd love to do this with my cat. As he's a house cat though, the footage may be a bit boring...

What would be MORE awesome would be a 3G version so you could connect and get 'live streaming' of cat location. Provided you can stop the cat throwing itself around the floor trying to rid itself of the cumbersome and bulky camera...

 

Before our Black and White cat was elderly and senile she used to go missing a lot so this would have been really helpful.

Misread this thread as "anyone tried webcams for(as) pets" and wondered whether there was something I was missing about the companionship of a webcam.

No good for our hermits, but you could look at a clone of an MD80 camera sold by 7dayshop for about £18. Light(ish) and cheap enough not to be a calamity if/when they lose it.

i know sorry..... can't think of a camera small enough - but I like your idea it's pretty smart
