synaesthesia Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Nice! My wife has been doing large cross stitches for the kids - name, date of birth, pictures etc - she's doing one for our son at the moment with Thomas the Tank Engine on it
rad Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Well done, I intend to get crafty soon, I used to sew and cross stitch as a kid, the main kits nowadays are very flowery or girly. (sorry)
Little-Miss Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 There are geeky ones/non girly (I'm with ya there!) out there and there's a guy called Mr X I think who does it too.
Netwacky87 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Ha ha! Thats amazing Little-Miss, really like that!!
Oaktech Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 my mum used to do loads of xstitch and i used to make patterns for her ages ago (in the 90s) using excel with coloured x's in the boxes as the 'real' x stitch maker software was serious money!
AMLinington Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I love this! I, too, enjoy cross-stitch and would love to stitch this. Did you pattern it up yourself or do you have a pattern/colourchart you could point me at? (Although I am certain it wouldn't be too hard to approximate this from a screen grab). I want a Nyan-cat X-stitch in my life <3 A.
Devontechie Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 @Little-Miss Very good.. My other half does a lot of Cross Stitch. She has been making Birthday Cards recently. If I can get any photos of them, I'll share them
elsiegee40 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Well done Little Miss My Mum taught embroidery for many years, so I'm pretty handy with a needle too. Making your own patterns is fairly straightforward... I used to photocopy my drawn/traced design onto graph paper... nowadays with scanners and printers, I can print it onto graph paper instead and get the scaling right much quicker
