Hi all,

A question I hope is quick to answer!

We are upgrading the mac minis here to Lion and everything seems to be working fine (Even on our .local domain shock horror!) just a bit concerned about one thing though. The home directory (\\godric\students$\username) on SNOW LEOPARD is mounted as a "home" directory in the finder however it is not apparent on the Lion install. However the documents part of the lion screenshot below stores itself on the "document" folder in the users home directory so redirection is working.

How can I make the home directory reappear?

Cheers Richard

So you mean the home directories mount but just don't show in the finder? you can press cmd+up when in documents to see home directory, press cmd+up one more time to drag the home directory to the sidebar.

Or go finder > preferences > general to set home folder as default view for new finder windows.

finder > preferences > sidebar to choose what displays in sidebar

WGM will allow you to push a modified com.apple.sidebarlists.plist to all users

Thanks mr_moonface, your commands indeed work however for some reason cannot push the sidebarlists? Done the modifications yet not applying?

Very fustrating, all other WGM policies work fine!

I have found the sidebar plist can be a little funny. Sometimes a roll out works other times it doesn't. Have you tried importing it in as often instead of always? OR maybe once?
