Did anyone see this last night?

 

I missed it but I'll catch up on iplayer tonight.

 

From what it says here, "A News Corporation company recruited a pay-TV "pirate" to post hacked details of a rival's secret codes online, BBC Panorama has found."

I caught the last 20 mins or so....

 

I have to say that I'm not even remotely surprised. BSkyB using hackers to take down their only real competition on the digital TV landscape....

 

Potentially more damaging to the Murdoch empire than the phone hacking scandal.

In the Starwars universe Murdoch woul be the emperor, evil through and through without a shred of decency but a good enough con artist to keep in good with the powers that be, at least until recently.

caught the last 10 mins here, gonna watch it myself later on, seems yet more scary business practices in place, hope they both fail the proper person test their facing in the coming months with TV, about time this cesspool was started to be cleared up.

The only outcome of all this is that the US govt are taking a lot more notice. I suspect they'll launch into a full-blown investigation over there soon.

will owt come of it or is murdoch too far into the political system? Take fox news in the usa its just a mouthpiece for the republicans so would they risk annoying him? and anything the democrats do could just be seen as sou grapes and swept inder the rug

 

even this country to a too large a degree whichever way his papers/news media swing at election time that party wins would any politician dare to take him on?

I don't know, the Murdoch empire has annoyed a lot of people over the years - this crack in the veneer of the empire is just what is needed for them to take him down.

The paid stalkers that they had uncovered didn't seem to provide enough of a crack for any govenment to exploit properly. Sure they had a nice little talk but action was a different matter.
