hullsmostwanted Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Hi all I'm after some ideas of what to do with an old G5 XServe and 6TB XRaid, any suggestions? would anyone be interested in buying it? Thanks Rob
mac_shinobi Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Not that I will be able to afford it but just curious what sort of price or how much were you looking to get for these ?
Carter Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 If no luck selling you could always do what I did with our old equipment :-) http://i.imgur.com/61FEo.jpg .
GrumbleDook Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 @Carter Oi! When did you sneak into my house? *droool* mmmm ... fanboi heaven! Though I do have to admit to being disappointed not to see and 52xx or LC units ... I spent toooo long looking after those ... usually fixing them after @mac_shinobi had been on them doing 'school work' (aka netRisk!)
Carter Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I want to track down a "Apple Bandai Pippin" but very hard to find. More so the American version! Apple Bandai Pippin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .
Dos_Box Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 @Carter. Some people would describe that as having a 'problem'
Rozzer Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 If no luck selling you could always do what I did with our old equipment :-) http://i.imgur.com/61FEo.jpg . That is epic!!!
dan41322 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Hi all I'm after some ideas of what to do with an old G5 XServe and 6TB XRaid, any suggestions? would anyone be interested in buying it? Thanks Rob Can you PM what price you would be after? Thanks
hullsmostwanted Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Thanks for suggestions (not quite sure we have enough equipment or an awesome poster to replicate the Mac Hall of Fame) and inquiries. I have no idea what it is worth so probably putting it on Ebay is a good idea. Will need to wipe the drives etc so will post a message up here when we put it on in case anyone is still interested. Thanks again
Dos_Box Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 @Carter. What is that clamshell phone with an Apple logo on it (on top of the locker)?! I've never seen one of those before and drawing a blank on Google.
JR-PCS Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 The best thing to do with it all would be to sell it all as parts. You will get a lot more money doing this. If you look for 750gb xserve raid hard drives on ebay, they regularly sell for £170 for a used drive!
brewerd Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Is the XServe the only piece of maccery you have for sale?
hullsmostwanted Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Hi again, have listed the stuff on Ebay if anyone is interested: Apple Xserve and Apple 3.5TB Xraid | eBay
JR-PCS Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 You should have sold it as parts, you would have gotten so much more money for it all as parts, plus you could then sell it worldwide using shipping options rather than just collection only.
