vikpaw Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I might report it then, as need to have it fixed : it's my show stopper
HannahBuist Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I've logged it with Capita this morning so watch this space. 2
skunk Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Ouch, I know staff like to press delete in their marksheets, and they are all set up to calculate on save, so will be waiting for a fix on this one before applying the update.
HannahBuist Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 With a business analyst at Capita.....will keep this thread posted!
HannahBuist Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Nothing back from my logged call yet, but Chris Sherwood from Capita has updated my forum post with the following: I am afraid that it cannot be patched. We are working on a fix for the Summer release. oh happy days.

We are working on a fix for the Summer release. oh happy days. wtf! That means i have to roll back to Autumn update, and re-test with that. They can't be serious!!
HannahBuist Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Apparently so :-( Although I haven't heard back from my support call yet so fingers crossed I get a different answer! I foresee many support calls on this......

Sivadam Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Not Hurrah! Quite the opposite in fact! This was a very minor irritiation compared to having the Upgrade withdrawn mid-deployment! Neither issue merited a total withdrawal! Edited March 13, 2012 by Sivadam
vikpaw Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Not Hurrah! Quite the opposite in fact! This was a very minor irritiation compared to having the Upgrade withdrawn mid-deployment! Neither issue merited a total withdrawal! Surely that issue is due to the way SOLUS 3 works. For SOLUS 2 schools, if you upgrade the server then that's what you get. workstations just update from the server if it's a faulty upgrade then that's that.
HannahBuist Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ok - let me be more specific: Hurrah for me as I have only released the upgrade to 1 school, not 240+, and now I don't have to face a series of support issues regarding the Assessment issue that for me does seem to be a rather important issue as I have a large number of schools using Assessment Manager. Not hurrah for those of you in the same position as you. Agreed a withdrawal is a bit extreme (and a major issue for those schools who have already begun deployment), but for my reasons I stand by my 'hurrah', for me at least.
enjay Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 This was a very minor irritiation compared to having the Upgrade withdrawn mid-deployment! Neither issue merited a total withdrawal! I've made that very point to Capita in the past too. We don't do Census or use Assessment Manager here, so would be unaffected by the faults (unless they're worried that the faults they've found could also have implications elsewhere that haven't yet been discovered).
skunk Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I shall continue to sit Jedi-like, in calm contemplation whilst all around me upgrades, withdrawals, patches and bugs swirl. "Upgrade I will, when you bugs you have fixed, Hmm!"
pubgrub277 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Upgrade I will, when you bugs you have fixed, Hmm!" The Farce is strong with this one.... 1
Sivadam Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I would like to publicly thank Phil Neal and the Support Team at Bedford for the excellent support that we have been given in getting SOLUS3 working to deploy the re-issued Spring Release. All being well, deploying the updated release once it is available will now, hopefully, be seemless! I must add that most of our problems were caused, not by withdrawing the original release (inconvenient though it was!), but by a failure on our part to follow though with SOLUS3 for the past few upgrades.
RogerCorrigan Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Sorry to go off subject, but does anyone know the password to the spring 2011 sims upgrade iso? or could someone email me the release notes. It's just that I have found out that I can't access SupportNet for KB108477. Thanks in advance for your help.
matt40k Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 No, it's a year old. Look for the 2012 version.
Sivadam Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 One would hope that users would have the sense not to post such Passwords anyway! They should not be available on a public website! Legitimate users can get them from SupportNet or directly from Capita Support!
Edu-IT Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Where/How do i down load discover ?? Is it not now included with the setups? You should find it on SupportNet also.
Cools Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 had to phone them up in the end.. as there support team did not know where it was .. but some one found it and email me a link to it..
vikpaw Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 It's not in setups. SupportNet is the place to go. The resource linked in the first post, should have all the info you need. The upgrade iso should also do a clean install for you.
Theblacksheep Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Could anyone post the full version numbers of the SIMS and FMS exes? i.e. 7.142.28.0
