I need to recreate the bug in HP's laserjet drivers where a user sends x copies to print, but the printer will only ever receive one.

I've tried fiddling the mopier mode options in advanced settings, and advanced features, and have tried PCL 5 and 6. Is the issue driver version dependent?

Any suggestions? Thanks

Because we suspect some staff are treating the printers as photocopiers. Our current print auditing solution is rather rudimentary. I'd like to go to Papercut NG in the long term, but this would be a much cheaper workaround in the short term.

I couldn't recreate it with the PCL5 or 6. :(

Hmm. Maybe you're lucky then! :)

We had the same problem with 4250n and 1320n when they used PCL6 drivers, nothing else different from the defaults so I don't know why you can't get the bug to work :|

I had the problem with the PCL6 driver IIRC.

You could always install PyKota - you'll find that some helpful soul has put a howto in the *nix forum ;)

Old thread, I know but I had to say "hooray!". I can sleep easy knowing why our 2550 always did that. I switched to the postscript driver and it went away so I always suspected the PCL6 driver.
