They seem to have broken it

 

We run our laptops thought a docking station and VLC was the only decent player I found that worked on the computer and projector at the same time...v2 doesn't seem to like doing that so I am staying with the old version...

It plays videos, you play videos in full screen... it's not trying to be a clumsy, slow, buggy, piece of "wickid" eye candy, infact it's trying to be the exact opposite.

I think it has more to do with making the interfaces work on all platforms.

 

I use zoomplayer myself due to its beautiful OSD and interface. Shame VLC cant do that as its technically a much better player.

We have been using Media Player Classic for the last few years, it just plays virtually everything we throw at it. A little 'clunky' to use but with staff bring in all sorts of formats, MPC just gets on with it.
