Just the box please.

Can anyone recommend a decent supplier who will make a box (Athlon 64, dual core) without trying to bundle a monitor etc with it? I'm after a GOOD supplier, not a local computer shop.

I have always found http://www.overclockers.co.uk to be very good for high powered boxes (without monitors). However, I don't know if they are a serious enough supplier for you to be able to deal with.

I can't say I have had any problems with returning kit to them. I personally have rarely had any problems with the gear I have bought from them (lots and lots over the past five years or so).

 

However, a friend of mine's motherboard failed after three months and they replaced it without any difficulty.

 

I do understand though that people have many different experiences with customer services....

@Dos_Box: Try Alienware, Sun or HP. All three of these offer education discounts and will happily sell you an Opteron/Athlon-64 pretty much off the shelf - with or without gubbins.
