Is there a way to reset roles with single click? Do I have to remove the each then reinstall?

My all nodes are in a temp dhcp ip range;

*.*.*.101 to *.*.*.199

After the reset or reinstall, what's the proper way to setup the dhcp to this;

*.*.*.30 to *.*.*.100 for DHCP

*.*.*.2 to *.*.*.29 for STATIC

Thanks in advanced.

I think it depends on your server operating system. In server 2003, whatever you set in DHCP is law and cannot be changed unless you remove and redo.

I think in Server 2008R2 you can modify your DHCP and then just authorised the new scope. Though I have never done this before.

Generally what you want to do, trying to stick to your examples is set up DHCP with a scope that covers your entire range. e.g.

*.*.*.2 - *.*.*.100

And set in exclusions within that range for your statics *.*.*.2 to *.*.*.29 The left over then will be your DHCP scope.

Of course these do all depend on what your existing infrastructure is like, but should give you an idea of a starting off point

Got this error message after DHCP installed;

Attempt to configure DHCP server failed with error code 0x80074e54. The scope parameters are incorrect. Either the scope already exists or its subnet address and mask is inconsistent with the subnet address and mask of an existing scope.

What should I do?

Thanks again.
