GrumbleDook Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I also use it for groups and discussions ... I find folk on there who I wouldn't find on other networks / forums ... but I also use it to help others connect to one another. I have a lot of connections, not to say I am well connected but because it gives a better chance for others to find like-minded people. If I invite anyone in I tend to recommend that that they have a trawl through my connections to see if there is anyone there who they find grabs their attention. I am always happy to pass on a request to connect for others (some people can be picky who they connect with) ... but I would strongly recommend that each time you connect with someone have a look through their connections.
enjay Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 You don't need that - just click the big "LinkedIN" button ini my SIG to do that That just takes me to your page though, it doesn't "connect" us...
enjay Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 There is an EduGeek group which you can find and then connect to fellow group members, and once you are connected to a few then the suggestions will do the rest. Awaiting your approval :-)
Gatt Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 That just takes me to your page though, it doesn't "connect" us... It should have an "Add to 's network" link to the right of my prfile box??
laptopsandspares Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I'm on! Available via my e.mail address of this link doesn't work David Shepherd - United Kingdom | LinkedIn I've only just started looking at it in the last week or so to keep up with some old IT contacts in a more professional way than having them on my FB account, I'm not sure my old boss wants to see pictures of my kids rubbing a dozen eggs into my living room carpet! Would welcome contact from any of you guys OFC. D
enjay Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 It should have an "Add to 's network" link to the right of my prfile box?? Yes, that's there but when I click on it, I have to specify how I know you, and that requires me to have your email address (or say we're friends)
Gatt Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Yes, that's there but when I click on it, I have to specify how I know you, and that requires me to have your email address (or say we're friends) odd - checked my profile and its set to allow anyone to connect to me... and just accepted an invite from someone else on here about an hour or so ago...
enjay Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Maybe because I don't have many links yet - I've asked a mutual contact to "introduce" us (Facebook is easier to make friends on :-) )
