tj2419 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Hi Basically what the heading says. We have a cc4 network and sims installed on the machines when they are given the two groups. We also have windows laptops in their own Group. We have added the groups but sims isn't installing. Any ideas? Thanks
matt40k Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Are the laptops joined to the domain? Can you manually run s:\sims\setups\simsinst.exe on them?
tj2419 Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 I'll try that now. THey are on the domain so should just be able to map the drive and run it.
tj2419 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Hi yes, the solution that worked for me was. 1. Map the sims drive to the machine. 2. Create a folder called SIMS on the C: of the laptop. 3. Apply the sims groups to the machine in AD. 4. Run the simsinst.exe and change the settings to how your sims install is set up. E.g. which drives you have sims on. 5. Let it finish and away you go. I have only tried it on a local profile. Ran out of time to try it with a network one but will let you know how it goes monday morning.
