Copying folders with permissions (new server)

We're planning to migrate to a new server over the Christmas break. Is there a way to copy all the home folders directly from one machine to another, while retaining file permissions, and without querying or quitting if it encounters problems...? (The old machine is Server 2003 and the new one is Server 2008.)

Option 1) Use robocopy.

Option 2) Do a restore from backup media and redirect it to the new server... depends though what you use to do your backups.

Never used it but is that not what the Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit is for?
