I got given a year's subscription to MAKE Magazine last year, and they've just emailed me to remind me my subscription is due for renewal:

Cunningly, they are offering a second free subscription to give away if I renew - does anyone fancy a year's subscription? It's a bi-monthly magazine featuring interesting DIY projects to carry out yourself at home, and might be just the thing for those working in schools with a DT department. You also get the electronic edition for you iPad or similar, so you can give the physical copy away if you like.

I'd really like to open up a kind of 'hack-space' afterschool club. Having a copy of Make Magazine would be something that students could pick up and peruse for inspiration.

 

The reality is, I'm unlikely to find the time, resources or courage to actually do this. Instead I'll just be spending time with my CNC machine in the garage.

ta for posting info re this mag. Not heard of it before. Some of the projects (e.g. the gory brain cap) look interesting.

Right: I've emailed MAKE to see if I can sort something out for three subscriptions. I've just realised it's Thanksgiving in the USA, though, so we probably won't hear anything until next week.
