Same as the number of cars that roll down a hill and do not expode in a massive fireball!!!!! (or for people who get puched in the face and do get knocked out even when they are only wearing a vest)

Depending on the model the fuel tank almost certainly had an emergency cut off that automaticlly triggered and it may even have had an inert gas in the free space of the fuel tank to prevent accidents. You could here the turbine going nuts for a while burning off the fuel still in the lines and as it was decoupled from the rotor it wound up quite nicely. The gas tanks are also usually extremely tough and sometimes coated in an absorbant foam layer that gums up any leaks that may occour. All depends on the type of helecopter though.
