its_sam Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Has anybody ever come across a "TokenActivationContainer: XML Parsing error" whilst trying to activate Cubase 4 using the License Control Centre? It's got me stumped and Steinberg support is impossible to get hold of!

clint0n Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi NeilMC, just started testing cubase 6 artist on win 7 64x, any advice/tips you can share? Machines are in domain, users do not have full admin rights.

I found that students who don't have admin rights struggle to get any sounds in cubase, ensure that they have read access to all folders that is part of the cubase install, so c:/progam files/steinberg and the application data on the c drive aswell should give allow students to have access. thats the main problem I ran into. any others you have?
RobFuller Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 @neilmc How did you deploy Cubase, did you just run the MSI's already on the disks? Our version has come without dongles and now with a software e-licence which is a pain as its looking like I'm going to have to activate each machine!!

I had to install on each machine, and then activate on each machine. But with the dongles you can activate the dongles on any machine, and then you can image each machine and it will pick up the dongle.

I could easily have dealt with the dongles but I don’t want to visit a machine more than once else I’m doing something wrong otherwise!

We're having issues with Cubase 6 Artist on windows 7, with disappearing sounds for all users bar admin, have already given read access to users on the folders you stated, and the sounds are still disappearing. Anything else you can think of? thought of copying the sounds to default/appdata/roaming/steinberg/vst sound - failed thought their might be appdata folder in all users their isn't, there is a steinberg/content/vst sound folder containing all the sounds, given read access to that - didn't work. Getting stuck for ideas now.
clint0n Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Dave, We spent months getting cubase 6 Artist to work on powerfull DELL T1600 machines with windows 7 in a domain. Performance issues, errors, complaining music teacher etc. In the end we settled with standalone windows 7 machines outside of the domain.
