featured_spectre Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 If you want something a bit more team oriented then BF3 is the way forward - simply for the fact that it is not every man for himself and you get additional points for spotting, repairing, healing, giving ammo, and what have you. People are going for max points as possible so they have to play as a team to do so.
Big_Ted Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 was a fun single player campaign always doing something new and fresh maybe a little easy and short but top marks all round. also had good graphics on the 360 version.
JoeBloggs Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I got it for the PS3 on Friday. Seems good... similar to MW2 to me but I didn't play that too much. Took me 5 hours to complete - did feel rather short though! I'm very new to FPS on consoles though. I have BF3 for the PC, but it's a bit boring when none of my mates have it!!
captaincharisma Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Playing Survival mode with mates is brilliant, make sure you try it if you can.
CHR1S Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Been playing MP alot, with the moon and sun aligned, while dancing backwards on one leg and a near perfect connection its a great game. Any other time its rubbish!
LosOjos Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Been playing MP alot, with the moon and sun aligned, while dancing backwards on one leg and a near perfect connection its a great game. Any other time its rubbish! Take the plunge and get BF3! I'll admit that for the first couple of hours every fibre of my being wanted to abandon BF3 and play Black Ops, but if you bare with it it'll suddenly click and then it's fantastic, loving it at the moment
HaleStorm Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 My copy of MW3 is downloading as we speak, my new hosues internet is not as fast as the old ones got a discount code for steam so i only paid £19 for it, which leaves me enough to buy Battlefield AND Skyrim which should i play first though?
featured_spectre Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Funniest comment so far was by my cousin...and I quote (swears removed) "I can't believe I queued up at midnight to get a **** version of COD!! I wasted so much on this when I should have gotten BF3 all along. ****ing Activision ruining games. The maps aren't even that great, they are just rehashes of old maps and nothing else is new" He is a die hard COD fan...and I mean literally die hard....he has bought all the top versions of the games (with the remote control car, night vision goggles, the works).
ICT_GUY Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Im thinking of trading it in for battlefield 3
LosOjos Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Im thinking of trading it in for battlefield 3 I would lol I did! [and haven't looked back!] 2
Butters Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Steam won't let me refund it! I'm appauled by MW3, it's just a plain lazy attempt at keeping the console kids happy which inevitably it will fail at as well.
pscott Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 the quickscope "cheating" needs to be stopped!!!!!

I'm appauled by MW3, it's just a plain lazy attempt at keeping the console kids happy which inevitably it will fail at as well. It's awful, my 13 year old cousin spends every spare moment he has playing CoD - he's gone and bought BF3 now too. It's obviously an attempt at churning out the same old same old, most likely because IW walked out on it and they didn't know what to do (there's a noticeable difference between IW's CoDs, I've always preferred them) the quickscope "cheating" needs to be stopped!!!!! Yeah that's infuriating, as is the random hit box. It seems to me (has always been the way in CoD but seems even worse in this one) that it tries to mask any lag by filling in the gaps because quite often you'll be shooting somebody then they'll shoot and kill you, when you watch the replay it looks as though you never fired a shot.
captaincharisma Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 You haters I will stick with COD till the end...sounds like I will be the only one though. To be fair it is pretty much the same game but I still enjoy it, Will be giving Battlefield 3 a try though.
JoeBloggs Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 BF3 is annoying on the PC launching through a damn web browser though. And that stupid Origin crap!!
featured_spectre Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 This is why I enjoy my console much more. Fine the gfx aren't as good as pc, but no additional rubbish to install and enjoyable gameplay.
BenABF Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I find the launching of the PC version of BF3 far better than waiting upto 5 minutes to get into a COD game without dedicated servers as it sits there waiting to find "the best host". Thats why MW2 was the last COD game I purchased.

Thats why MW2 was the last COD game I purchased. You quit at the right time, it only got worse after that! MW2 was the best CoD in my opinion, although I still find myself playing MW1 occasionally. Black Ops wager matches were genius, I'll hang on to it just for that.
featured_spectre Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Black ops was good until I got 4th prestige. I stopped literally then and there and haven't touched a cod game since apart from mw2 just to try and finish spec ops. Mw2 was the best out of the series, but battlefield absolutely spanks it. Lots of cod fans even admitted it!
JoeBloggs Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I've never waited 5 minutes to get in to a MW3 game on the PS3. Doesn't take that long going through a web browser on BF3 either though. I would much prefer to launch BF3 then get the server list so I could join the game quicker. To get in a good server it can fill up before it has chance to launch.

featured_spectre Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 MW3 Sales = £647m (Globally) MW3 Refunds/Trade ins = £511m (Globally) BF3 Sales = £188m (Globally) BF3 Refunds/Trade ins = £16m (Globally) Pretty much says it all really!! 1
JoeBloggs Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Where did you get those figures from @nephilim ?
featured_spectre Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Company records...just look up the sales and returns figures
