Proxy expections remove proxy server in IE options

This is a real head stratcher and its doing my head in.

At the mo we have our proxy server set to 172.16.24.1 which works fine until you add a server into the expections box such as http://thor/owa. It then takes out the proxy address which leaves the user without a proxy connection therefore no internet. We are running windows 7 throughout school and are pushing the settings out via group policy. For the life of me i cannot get the proxy server to stay in when we add servers to the exceptions.

Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks

Have you tried just adding your 172.16.* range to the exception list?

As DNS will resolve the internal server name anyway.
