and ordered me some new parts, pretty much building a new PC.

Going for an i7 3.4GHZ, 16GB RAM, GTX580 and 64GB SSD

Still got to get a new PSU and case, but I know what I want, just need to wait until after I'm paid to be able to afford it ;)

Considering I built my current machine in about 2005/6 and it hasn't had any upgrades since, it's not done too badly.

This new rig isn't for BF3 either, I'm not buying a whole new kit just for one game. It's more the fact that the past few games I've played (Dead Island, Portal2, L4D2) I've had to turn the settings down quite a bit just to get it to play smoothly....so I might revisit some of those games again and play them on full settings now, especially Dead Island.

OCZ modular for your PSU ;)

Only a 64GB SSD - what are you going to use for data/game storage?

I read some bad reviews about the OCZ psu's. I was looking more at the corsair modulars to be honest. i'm just slightly concerned at the fact im after a tower case with compartments (already have it atm tbh) and some PSU cables won't reach via the compartments to components.

64gb will be OS and things like steam and the games (i don't play that many games all the time) - i have a few installed all the time, the rest I install, play, get bored and delete. Plus I still have a 500gb SATA drive that will stay and be used as overflow

I'd go for Corsair over OCZ too on PSUs

You can get a 2TB drive for like 50-60quid anyway

I assume you mean SATA, or are you buying your SSD off ebay from china? ;)

If SATA then I already have a drive spare for that, so its not a worry, i'll have 64gb as OS and apps, and the SATA drive i currently have for overflow.

Just waiting for a reply as the mobo bundle i got came with 8gb and i asked if i ordered an extra 8gb they'd change the overclock as needed for stability, yet my extra8gb is unopened so i need to know they set the overclock up with 16gb not 8. grrrrr

would a 650w psu be able to cope with a gtx580, one ssd, sata hdd and one dvd drive? i dont plan on adding any more stuff so if i dont need a 750w or above i'd rather not pay extra
