The Fades

Has anyone seen it. It's a British produced program on the BBC but it's got a kind of American stylee story to it. Basically the main kid in it starts seeing things which later turn out to be 'The Fades'. He then comes across a secretive kind of organisation and then ends up starting this 'journey'. It has a horror vibe to it so might not be everyones cup of tea.

 

I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan but it's not bad. Doesn't look quite as polished as American stuff like FlashForward (cancelled), Lost (ended), The Event (cancelled) etc... but like I said, it's not bad. So what do other people think?

I couldn't get into it. Not my style of show to be honest, but a good effort none the less.

It's pretty good, but I think the makers have spent far to much time watching films rather than books which shows in the dialog (all very dramatic and meaningful), and the plot seems to jump and skip quite a bit.

It does have me watching each week though.

The Fades is the best thing I've seen on TV since Heroes first aired. It's got me and my wife on the edge of our seats every week with the tension! Brilliant stuff!

Totally agree, I have been hooked since I first saw it and in fact watched the episodes back to back on V+ as I had them recorded. Interesting concept I thought to be honest.

For me the character "Mac" has me in stitches, especially his opening lines " Previously on Fades" .... very funny!!

You know, I thought that too but if it's based on a series of books or even a single book then maybe that would explain it. I think that's one of the things that irritates me a little about the program. Kind of like in Harry Potter DH2 when he basically looked like he'd just been unconscious rather than dead, apparently the book explains it much more.
