mehball Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Hi Guys I am trying to get a list of all the software we have deployed in Group Policy so we have a list to work on for Windows 7. Does anyone know a way to export a list of Group Policy Items to say a text file? Thanks
ChrisH Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Just right click the software installation icon in the GPO and select export list.
mehball Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Just right click the software installation icon in the GPO and select export list. Cannot find an export button. Basically I want a list of everything under Group Policy Objects. http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/822/gpo.png
denon101 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Go into each GPO and get to computer config/Software installation/software installation. Then right click and choose export list. Hope that helps
mehball Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Yes thanks that is there. I am just after a list of every policy under group policy objects. We do not need the settings for each one just simply a list in text format or every policy name if that makes sense?
mehball Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 Use group policy management console? How? Im a noob.
mehball Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Use group policy management console? We do. There is no option to export every GPO as a list.
cromertech Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Does all the software reside on the same network share? ie \\server\installs or something similar. You can find out by looking at the location on a software package. As there are lots of GPOs with lots of software this may be the easiest way to find everything. Of course, if your software is all over the place this can be difficult. It was a problem here until I managed to centralise everything and it may be worth doing if you are going over to win 7/2008R2 anyway
