Frut02 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Hi, I need to uninstall spell check, i have done it in the past but cannot remember how, i seem to remember that i went into the change office 2010 options and uninstalled, spelling a grammar, however when i try it now it will not uninstall it says it has done it, then allows people to check their spelling, when i go back to see if i clicked the correct thing in the uninstall box, it is there as installed, Any ideas,

sted Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 with 2007 and previous versions so i assume 2010 there are adm(x) files you can use to set the options ive used that before to disable spellcheck
enjay Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I've tried the Office 2010 GPO, and it is slightly different to the 2007 one and I can't see how to disable "check spelling as you type".

Result! How exactly did you do this? I can't see a way to remove the dictionary. I need to remove all proofing tools for exam laptops. This was easy in 2003 - just change the install options and desect the proofing tools. In Office 2010, they keep coming back!

We don't install Word on exam laptops, or block access to it, all they need for exams is Wordpad, which has no spellchecker.
