Driverless transit system at Heathrow T5

To be honest its not very new. They have had this at Singapore Changi Airport for years. They use it for moving passengers from one end of the terminal to the other and also to move them to another terminal, all driverless. They also carry allot more people than these do. They have had it for years. I have used them many times. They are excellent i must say! Very fast an easy way to get about the airport. Edited October 2, 2011 by FN-GM

There are driverless trains o docklands light railway (dlr) as well

But do these run on roads or tracks. I think the thing about the T5 jobby is it runs on concrete. We've had the driveless Maglev at Birmingham Int. for years.

I know the one at Singaore its on a track.

This was working in April when I flew out of Heathrow. As I recall it wasn't for general use but for business class and above passengers back then (maybe during the trial they restricted it). It certainly looked funky though.

Those roads are so tight and enclosed they practically are running on a track. Looks a bit inefficient too, wouldn't a DLR style system carry more back and forth?
