Hi all

 

The head at one of my schools has just asked me to look at tout-le-monde.co.uk as she has purchased a subscription to it. She originally wanted me to change the password for the software which Pearson/Heinnemann have told me is not possible. Another issue is that they do not provide the ability to auto login like Education City. They recommend the very safe method of placing the Username and Password into a text file on the desktop.

 

My question to you is this:

 

Does anyone know anyway of creating an automatic login using a third party free piece of software? They have advised me that this method might work. For anyone that is curious the username is made up of 9 characters which are mixed lowercase and numbers, the password is made up 6 characters which are mixed uppercase and numbers.

 

Getting a teacher to type that in everytime is ridiculous as some of them struggle to type their own bleeding names!!

You could probably do it in terms of making it auto-press keys, however it's not exactly "safe" as people could easily cheat and alttab to a notepad etc etc. And it's not exactly full-proof being flash.

 

If you went into the hassle of it, you could probably find out what the flash button is posting to, and then just load ashortcut directly to it, but kinda getting fiddly there.

I have taken a look at a few links revealed by Web Developer Console in firefox but i cannot for the life of me work out if any of them are of any use.

 

The one I have been working on is this:

this link shows a ?UserVerify string which contains the username and password and also the product id however when i use this string (substituting the correct values) i get left with an xml file output:

Reviving this incredibly old thread!

 

We have Tout Le Monde here and it seems to not like new browsers (we have the CD version - Windows 98 recommended O/S!)

 

It was working before my Windows 10 upgrade. I've suggested to the subject leader that she uses other resources we have such as Espresso, Purple Mash and LearnPads. This should be totally fine, but out of curiosity has this happened for anyone else?

Having the same issues with the same version. We're still on Win7. Not too up on what Espresso has in terms of resources, but I'll mention it to my member of staff.

 

I've only tried Chrome and IE. Have you tried any other browsers?

It appears to be the latest Adobe Flash version 23 causing the problem! I rolled one PC back to version 22 and Tout Le Monde in IE works fine again. Chrome has the same problem with its built-in flash version 23 also - older version of chrome works fine. Not really a solution, but atleast I know what's causing it now!

I tried Opera and it was the same... so that must have updated flash.

 

I well don't want to go around everyone's laptop rolling back flash. LOLNOPE!

An update on this, from am email from Pearson support:

 

1. Go to the "Start Menu" of your computer.

2. Access "Control Panel".

3. Click on "Flash Player".

4. Go to the "Advanced" tab.

5. Click on "Trusted Site Locations".

6. Add the drive letter where Tout Le Monde is accessed. (e.g. D:/ or D:\)

 

In our case, I added the drive letter 'H:\' of the mapped drive that TLM was running from, and it started working again.

 

If you use Chrome rather than IE you need to use the 'Global Security Settings Panel' at https://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

click edit locations, add, then the drive letter same as above.

 

Still a pain, because this needs doing on every PC that will use TLM! I couldn't find a solution to distribute these settings.

Beginning with Flash Player 23, local-with-network permissions will now be applied to all local SWF content, regardless of the preference chosen at compile time.

At the same time, Adobe AIR has been established as a robust, mature solution for delivering ActionScript-based content as a standalone application.

 

Vast majority of Flash Player users and content will be unaffected by this change. This change only impacts Flash content played from the local filesystem, using the browser. Flash content hosted on the internet and local webservers, as well as the Standalone Flash Player remains unaffected.If you are a user who requires this functionality, these files can be added to the list of Trusted Locations in Flash Player.
