Obiwan Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Right Angle Converter for Dell and HP Laptop Power Adapters - LC90 We can order from the US (Bixnet) or via Ebay (also shipped from US) but they work out quite expensive including shipping. I'm surprised it's not a more popular item. For info we want them to help with a issue in some laptop trolleys where the straight Dell power connectors are regularly getting damaged when the laptops are replaced.
featured_spectre Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Dell and HP should be able to sell them direct to you.

laptopsandspares Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 How much do they want to charge you shipping from the states? I've bought a few bits from the US for personal use and as long as I didn't want super fast this month delivery it was about $10 i think. It was contact lenses and some bike bits so similar weight to a few of these. Any contact details you could use to haggle them down? D 1

john Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Do CPC or RS not have something that can be used for the job? 1
Obiwan Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions, I've tried CPC/Farnells, PSA and RS and drawn a blank so far. We may well have to order them from the states, in answer to David's question about shipping, the Bixnet/Bixmart website is a bit strange in that the postage shoots up from $62 if you order 69 to $174 if you order 70. So the optimum number to order is 69, which works out around £4.46 each, quite a lot for a small adaptor but if it saves buying new power adaptors at £35 a piece probably worth it. David, could be worth someone like yourselves looking to stock these?
laptopsandspares Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Hi Again Obiwan, I'll have an ask around for you, certainly none of the guys in the office have any idea where to get these. Interestingly pretty much all the google links to eBay, Amazon et al point back at various forms of the same firm. I'm wondering if thy are having them custom built? I'll mail a couple of our manufacturers and see if they can turn anything up. One does produce right angle adaptors but it's "in" fit is for the standard 5.5x2.5mm barrell tip, converting to a number of other fitments (5.5x2.1mm for example). I'll let you know if I can turn anything up. D 1
