kearton Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 History repeating itself for Rowan Atkinson? October 1999 August 2011 (Interestingly, in 12 years the car had increased in value from £650k to £2m. Not sure if this crash is repairable this time though...)
laserblazer Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Doesn't the F1 have a history of catching fire or am I thinking of another supercar?
Jawloms Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Doesn't the F1 have a history of catching fire or am I thinking of another supercar? The much more recent Ferrari 458 certainly did that, dunno about the F1.
aerospacemango Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Look on the bright side.... It will have melted down the gold, that they used in the engine housing, make yourself a little ingot, and you can survive the recession (probably!!)
MK-2 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I like how the BBC is reporting "Atkinson taken to hospital after crashing supercar" yet the actual body of the story shows he got out the car, stood and waited until an ambulance turned up and then was treated for a minor shoulder injury. The BBC sensationalist headline makes it sound like 20 paramedics rushed him to an ER where they are fighting to save his life. Who said the NOTW is dead!
laserblazer Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) The much more recent Ferrari 458 certainly did that, dunno about the F1. That's the one. Thanks, I hope my post hasn't lost Mclaren any sales The BBC sensationalist headline makes it sound like 20 paramedics rushed him to an ER where they are fighting to save his life That's what sells newspapers. I can still remember the shock when I saw this http://www.edugeek.net/forums/jokes-interweb-things/33779-breaking-news-button-injured-horrific-f1-training-accident.html Edited August 5, 2011 by laserblazer
