Using FOG for Windows 7 64bit

Hello

 

We are having real problems using FOG to ghost our Windows 7 64bit computers.

 

The main issue is the 100mb partition. We have the image and it uploads fine to the FOG server but after deployment to a machine the machine will not boot up as it has labelled the 100mb partition as C and the main partition as D!

 

We have tried many solutions which have included fog prep and sysprep but not come across a working one yet!

 

Has anyone got this working? Is it possible to do?

Using 0.29, Fogprep and sysprep, I have successfully rolled out 7 x64 to a number of PCs. However, I always set the partition type to Multiple Partition Image, Not Resizeable. I have different images for each IT suite. If you build the image on your smallest disks, you can roll it out fine like that, but you'll only have the install partition taking up that amount of space on any disk.

Using 0.29 as well, I actually have the image set to Single Partition Resizeable. As long the Host OS is set to Windows 7 it seems image fine and obviously resizes the partition to the maximum possible. (This is for Windows 7 32bit by the way, haven't tried a 64bit image yet).

Have you got any Server 2008 R2 Servers? if so use Windows Deployment Services its free and integrates with Windows 7 all versions and even XP

This does seem to be the standard response when anyone tries using FOG with Windows 7. Fact is, if you have a working FOG envionment and you like it, why change to a completely new system? I trialled WDS recently and it didn't suit me at all, though it was impressive.

I had issues with this, in the end i set the partitions to fix multiply size and it seems to work ok.

Can you not just delete the 100mb partition during the windows installer, this is what I have done and it worked fine.
