installed it this morning. My issue is that on this and previous phone it says i have a 3g(or whatever signal) but as soon as i try to surf in it i get cant find gateway and other messages or have to load a page 10 times to get it so even though there is a signal its about as much use a chocalate "orange" teapot. Take this morning at home said i had 3g but it wouldnt update facebook app until i turned on wifi download just stalled

Looks good, I would imagine the survey will paint a very different picture than the telecom companies 'estimated' coverage. For example there are many black spots in our town and the surrounding areas, not just for 3G but total signal loss.

Hope someone is making an iPhone app too.

Since BBC were too lazy/ignorant to include a QR link to the app, here it is:

http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=120x120&chl=market%3A%2F%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.epitiro.uk3g

Have installed it myself, not having any problems as a result.

I've been using it for a couple of days, the data usage in minimal. Maybe 2MB a day. Location isnt that great though, it estimates your location within about 1000m unless you give it GPS access.

it does seem to drain the battery quite nicely though lolwas full this morning now 60% and ive done naff all

and it reported 3g wignal easlier and i had to put in in airplane mode then back out before it would actually use data just kept saying no so even though its logging im not sure its a useful test

Not had any errors or unreasonable battery usage from the app. Then again it has a hard time sending any data at all with the signal levels where I live :p

that good a signal? dosent it use more power in a crap signal area to just try and find one?

Trying to find 3G/switching between 2G and 3G I think is the most power consuming, and I dont get 3G lol. I guess it also depends on the phone.
