Webcam Cuts Off

Hi

I've got an HP Pavillion laptop dv6000 with webcam built in. It says on the camera HP but the current driver installed is a Cyberlink youcam v.2117

 

When you load up the Youcam software or Skype, the camera works fine for about 30 seconds and it then goes black. However the camera light on the top stays on blue. If you load skype again it cuts off after about 5 seconds. Load it again and it doesn't work again until you reboot. I've tried rolling back driver and installing new one but still the same.

 

Any ideas appreciated

Is there a firmware update available for the laptop - it's a shot in the dark, but maybe worth a go?

I'll have a look for that one. Thanks. When I looked on HP site though even the drivers werent there. Had to get them from a different HP location

Any ideas on this one ? Might just try a different webcam plugged in via usb and see if that works.

Do you have any of the plugins, like google voice/chat etc? As I know those keep trying to re-adjust the addons, thus cutting off other feeds.

Thanks for the reply. The user had google desktop on I recall but I removed that. It cuts off in both Skype and the Cyberlink program.

And is that with nothing else open? As a lot of the silly addons, (mainly googles here) link to iGoogle etc, so even if browser open it can be funny.

Yeah that was just with the Skype or Cyberlink program open.
