Hi,

We are planning on deploying ActivInspire by group policy in the summer. Does anyone know if there is a way to import the resource pack into the shared resources via group policy please?

Thanks

I have all the resources on a shared network folder and Inspire points to that folder. So any new resources can just be added to that one folder. I know that's not what you asked but maybe a possibility?

I did think of something like that but then when laptops are taken home they wont have access. I did think about making the folde offline but not ideal really.

How did you set what shared folder activ inspire points to please?

Thanks

Ah of course, laptops would have problems with this. When deploying ActivInspire msi via group policy I used the ASTTransGen.exe to create a transform and set all the options in there.

IIRC I did a network installation of Inspire and set the resource location to a shared folder...when I run the installation on a laptop the path is remembered from that install...I haven't tried using GPO yet...

BTW I keep the shared resources on the network because if they are put on the laptop then they will no longer be shared ;)

The idea is for teachers to save "shared" resources to the network resource folder so that others can use them and save time and storage space...but some of them still would rather use email or USB stick to pass a copy to others creating even more duplication of files...Grrrr...

Well i dont want them to be shared as such just a copy of them on each machine.

Had an idea, if i extract them in winrar and use robocopy to put them in the default shared folder that should work.

The defualt folder is: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Activ Software\Inspire\Subjects

Thanks
