What Laptop type would you recommend for gaming?

What laptop would you recommend I buy for gaming purposes? Also what are the best sites for purchasing desktop computers and laptops? For the best prices.

a laptop, probably pick up the top end Dell XPS, other than that there isnt much i would personally consider a gaming laptop.

Depends what type of gaming but your first must have, should be dedicated graphics. Having dedicated graphics, takes a load of work away from the CPU so that you have more processing power to process all of the in game data.

 

Try looking at Save On Laptops. Their £400 laptop is excellent value. If your looking to play something a bit higher end though, you'd be better off paying more.

Personally I wouldn't go for a laptop for gaming, a desktop will generally work much better. I would recommend looking at desktops from Cyberpower Systems, I bought a very nice gaming desktop from them last year, and other that a dodgy fan I have had no problems with it. If you really want a laptop, they will do custom ones as well.

I've got a Dell XPS 15, Core i5 (with a GeForce GT420M 1GB) and it rocks! Its just as powerful as an Alienware branded one but half the price!

What are you playing?

 

Are we talking the occasional game of Portal / Torchlight / Whatever. Or attempting to play Crysis / Crysis 2 in full-on-graphical loveliness? Or somewhere in between?

 

I can play Portal, Torchlight, Eve-Online and (say) Borderlands using integrated graphics on an i7 laptops, for example.
