Shared Calendar Software

We currently have a school wide calendar - this is maintained by a member of admin in outlook and shared through exchange with everyone else - it is also uploaded to the school intranet in ical format

 

I'm in a meeting this morning to discuss making the information on the calendar more user friendly - unfortunately I am aware that we have hit the boundaries of what outlook was designed to do.

 

Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap/free) calendar program that would allow all staff to view the Calendar? Ideally in a much nicer way than outlook handles it. We have an onsite web server (Wamp/Joomla) so it's also possible to get it on there if we need to

Thanks James - unfortunately it has about the same limitations as outlook (filtering, readability etc)

I think VueMinder Calendar Pro will do what you need. It shares calendars using Microsoft SQL Server, and has extensive filtering and readability settings.
