Anyone got a HTC Wildfire S?

Just wondering what they're like in the real world, performance, battery, better than the standard Wildfire etc??

my girlfriend has a wildfire, but it might be the standard one. compared to my desire its a bit of poo. its put her off HTC entirely. Not great at picking up signal and occassionaly adds old messages to her current ones. though this may be network issues or unique to her handset.

 

battery life is a fairly standard average smart phone use and lasts about a day. all in all desire just seems better

Got a wildfire, great for me as I was aware it was slower than all the others in the HTC range and consequently much cheaper. Opposite experience to beaches511's girlfriend, great connectivity and signal strengh, much better than my wife's blackberry or my old Nokia 6300. GPS is also astoundingly accurate for a phone.

 

I, however, would go for a faster phone if my budget allowed it. But for a bargain basement piece of kit it is great value.

Wildfire S owner here, brand new. I like the phone, it has some good features but I am getting used to it. Signal is a bit ropey though, 3G doesn't always update and it doesn't always charge. Angry Birds lags a bit too.

I'm thinking of moving from my old phone to a contract smart phone, but i've no idea where to start, up until last year i was still using a Nokia 3510, i literally have no idea what i should be looking for, figured this might be a good place to ask?

Thanks all I've heard a few of the performance issues with the original Wildfire but was hoping they would be sorted with the S update.

I had a Wildfire as a stand in when my Nexus One went back for repair, and I loved it. A very capable little phone that is fully featured, and the low powered CPU is hardly noticable. I liked it a lot, especially as it fitted into pockets easier than larger smartphones.

My wife loves her Wildfire although I say my Nexus S is far superior.

Get an Orange San Francisco for £100 and put another ROM on it. Will be far better

 

My girlfriend has a Wildfire and I have the above phone - the Wildfire looks and performs terribly in comparison
