HELP! Tranfer Windows 2003 to New Hardware from SCSI to SATA

If I change the curent Administrator password now, will that stop any services working?

 

shoudlnt stop services but will stop any scheduled tasks that rely on that password

No, you should be OK I think, you can always change it back or edit the service logon details if anything breaks.

They had an external hard drive left plugged in too, 2TB. Now I can generate an image overnight and it will save my like 5 hours of being there. Looks like this install is going to go smoothly now I have the admin password.

Okay the server is generating an image (Saved me about 6-7 hours due to the fact I managed to gain access, phew!!) I've got all the CD's ready, and in the event that it does not work I'll simply install Windows Server 2003 on the New Server, and TeamViewer and then transfer roles to the new server remotely via TeamViewer.

 

I've got x2 External Hard Drives incase any don't work, power cables, everything, my CD collection.

 

I'll let you guys know if it works

Well heres what happened

 

I woke up at 6AM, got there at 10AM. After trying to recover the files that Acronis generated from like 10am till 4pm, I thought the hard drive was corrupted as acronis kept saying error, without any further detail. So I tried other portable hard drives all failed. After getting so fed up of Acronis failing I found this product "EaseUS Todo Backup" that has "Universal Restore" so it would work when hardware is changed. It worked like a miracle!!! and the server booted and started, and I installed drivers re-connected it to the network. I just got home and its 11:00 PM, everything is running much faster, there server was full of viruses, and the ex-administrator had added other administrator users in an attempt to re-connect, so they were removed.

 

I also upgraded there router, switches and stuff.

As for the door software - you may be able to migrate that across with time, regedit and some carefull labelling of files if you don't have any other way of transferring (like a fresh install).

The previous IT company yesterday remotely disabled the router as I had forgotton to change the password, and then attempted to break into the building to recover there equipment it was a stand off situation between them and the employees, after they had found out we cloned the server, after they sat in the car park for a good 3 hours the asking price was reduced once they found we had the data (That belongs to us) was safe from £30,000.00 to £2,000.00.

 

Good deal including 3 brand new Vaio & Acer laptops, a server rack, switches, cabling throughout the building, ISDN's, router, about 15 monitors keyboard and mice and thin clients.

Just the door software. Should I install Win 2003 on the new server before I drive over there tomorrow? Can I transfer everything over without imaging now?

 

I meant what is the manafacturer of the software? I know what it does.
