How do I set a default printer in GP 2008

How do I set default printers

The default printer is an option in the printer preference. Open up the preference for the printer you would like to be the default as there should be a setting to make it the default

If you're using logon scripts:

 

WshNetwork.SetDefaultPrinter "\\PRINTSERVER\PRINTER"

I would avoid scripts and use Group Policy Preferences. Gone are the days of having to script abunch of stuff. GPP works so well. We have switched all of our scripts to GPP.

I'm thinking of doing this over the summer, how many printers have you got working this way .. seems like a really big job for our 60odd network printers, epescially thinking about itemlevel target and remove when outside of target. I've read some really good articles on it though and very looking forward to getting rid of the 3mile long script we use at the moment
