Saving iPlayer Content

A family friend is appearing in a program on the BBC soon and as they live abroad they won't be able to see it when it is broadcast in the UK. I was going to record it for them on to DVD using my DVD recorder and post it out to them but I've just found that it's gone and keeled over ( I can't even remember the last time I used it either).

 

Rather than fork out for a cheapish DVD recorder, use it once and then never bother with it again like the last one, I was thinking of copying/recording the program when it's available on BBC iPlayer. Is this possible? No doubt it's illegal as well but it's the only thing I can think of.

 

What program (free) is out there that will let me capture iPlayer content?

 

I could then email it to them over in South Korea.

or you could find out the creators of the programme and email them for a copy?

Or we record bbc and bbc2 using clickview 247 so could record it from there?
