[for sale] 2x Servers

Hi all,

 

Just got a couple of servers that I'm looking to get rid of as they're taking up space and I no longer need them.

 

The black tower has a single 3ghz Xeon (Irwindale), Intel SE7320SP2 motherboard (supports 2 CPU's, only 1 installed), LSI MegaRAID SCSI card. All working, no hard drives or RAM are installed though. It takes DDR ECC RAM. (£20)

 

The large beige one has a P4 (3ghz I think), 1GB ECC RAM, 2x SCSI RAID cards. All working but no hard drives. (£15)

The beige Chenbro Case is an absoloute beast. I've got one sitting here waiting to do some kind of mad modding project but I cant think of anything big enough to need a case that beasty

Haven't seen a server like the beige one in years (2004 to be precise, when we were upgrading our network). I remember it well though, because it took two of us to lift it into the skip. Before we got rid of it we used to use it as a table top for our kettle.

I'm not sure how old it is.. I think it probably started out with a dual PII or PIII server board... The current motherboard/CPU were installed in 2007 I think.

We found 2 of those beige beasties that had been forgotten about at the back of a storage dump a few years ago.

 

We kept them hanging around for a few months for the 'I'll mod that one day' project like Butuz, but eventually dumped them. Of course, that was after we'd ridden them like chariots around the hall for a bit and looked at the logistics of turning them into remote control mobile tables/robot wars machines (would'a been more expensive than it was useful).

Bump, both servers are still available. I'm open to reasonable offers on them, it'd be a shame to scrap them.

We still use the beige type one - it takes standard ATX motherboards and an obscene number of hard drives, so it's now our main file server with a Core 2 Duo inside. Originally had a dual PII board.

 

I'd pay for courier here, plus some beer money would have a use for both.
