IT Qualifications in Schools

One of the TA's I work with has pretty much taken over the role of ICT Co-ordinator, shes being doing this for some time and has asked for a pay rise in respect of the extra duties she has taken on, she was told that she needs a formal qualifcation, but no one seams to know what (not even the person who said one was needed)

 

Does anyone have any recommendations?

As ICT Co-ordinator, perhaps some office qualifications, as well as a course in the materials the school uses (EG audacity, scratch, pivot etc)

I agree, completely she was thinking along the lines of BTEC but I think that may be a bit to techincal

If that's the case and a formal qualification is required there will be an official docuent/legislation stating which qualifications are appropriate. Put it back to the person who 'thought' they needed it to produce the above document!

I'm confused here, how can she be a subject co-ordinator as a member of support staff, don't you have to be a teacher to do that role. I thought teachers were paid additional T&L responsibilities points for that.
