teejay Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Well, had my shiney new Ruckus kit for 3 days and have managed to stuff the Zone Director:doh: Anyone know how to reset the security certificate for the web interface from the command line? Completely broken the web interface with an invalid certificate, have tried doing a factory reset but that doesn't reset the certificate to the factory installed one.
actech Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 A colleague at another school did that with his ZD as well. Out of memory he had to contact Ruckus Support and get them to remotely log into the unit and reset it for him. Sorry but not the news you probably wanted.
JJonas Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 @teejay as the proud owner of a similar shiny new Ruckus kit for 1 day without an invalid certificate. Do you mind telling me how you stuffed the Zone Director?
bgmncwj Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Just ran into this same problem myself. For future reference to reset the certificate, connect a null modem cable to the ZD (115200,8N1) default login is admin/admin and run: enable config certificate restore At any time you can press ? for help, this should then cause the Ruckus ZD to restore it's factory certificates and reboot. Why they just can't put this in the manual I'm not too sure (maybe it's there and I haven't found it).
paulfinlay Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 which web browser are you using? an invalid certificate shouldn't stop you from viewing the web management, although firefox has a bug that will complain about serial number mismatches and not let you browse.

It does, tried all browsers. If you want to try it and break a ZD, issue a user certificate rather than a web server certificate and import it (yes, I hit myself repeatedly with the clue bat). Fixed it as per bjmncwj above, but used ssh instead of the serial cable, but make sure you're on v9 of the firmware as v8 requires Ruckus to fix it.
