Looking To [Possibly] Replace Our Hall Projector

We are thinking about replacing our hall [Long Throw] LCD projector.

 

We currently have an Hitachi CPX-1250 and we want something that has a similar [or better] performance.

 

The current projector has 4500 ANSI Lumens. We are also thinking about moving to DLP. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which projectors we could look at?

We have a Benq MP776ST (short-throw) mounted in our stage scaffolding throwing onto a 4.6m diagonal motorised screen. It's completely stealthed until you turn it on and the screen rolls down.

 

We do take advantage of the shadow-box type area created by the stage though. Exuberance during basketball (main hall is used for PE too) prompted specifying something we could hide up near the lighting rigs that wasn't visible unless it's turned on.

Thanks for the reply. However we are looking to deploy another long throw solution as we do not want to completely rework our current solution. We have to have our projector deep cleaned/repaired. If that proves to be prohibitively expensive I would like to look at replacement projectors [hopefully one that do not have to come down as often for cleaning]

Would definitely recommend DLP for this. Our current is not as high specced as yours (Optoma 720p, 2500 lumens) but the filterless design is a huge bonus, as it takes scaffolding to reach it.
